We are sad to announce that on June 22, 2024, Marleny Velez (Queens, New York) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Concepción Montoya of Velez and Rafael Montoya; and her siblings, Rigoberto Velez, Celina Aguirre, Hubertina Ramirez, Virgelina Lopera and Requilda Velez.

She is survived by : her children, Jessica Flores and Wilson Cabrera; her grandchildren, Joshuwa Raymond Cabrera, Catalina Isabel Malone, Liam Victorino Cabrera, Louis Jacob Cabrera, Clara Teresa Malone, LizaBella Marie Cabrera and Bernard Rafael Malone; her children-in-law, Christopher Malone and Jamellah Cabrera Ydia; and her sister Jahel Velez. She is also survived by her loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 25th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home (43-07 Queens Blvd, Sunnyside, NY 11104). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, June 26th 2024 at 10:45 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the American Cancer Society, PO Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
