He is survived by: his wife Margaret; his children, James Sprague, Jr. (Mary) of Parish, Margaret Bouchard (Tommy) of Pulaski, Cindy Morgan of Stuart, FL, Belinda McWilliams (Dave) of Orwell and Joseph Sprague of Pulaski; and his siblings, Marion Salisbury of Lacona, Barbara Baum of Oswego and Robert Lyons of Pulaski. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
