With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard Hughes of Poughquag, New York, born in Yonkers, New York, who passed away on July 10, 2021 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Hughes and Florence Hughes (Ferine); and his sisters, Carol Iamiceli and Aleta Pataro. He is survived by: his wife Veronica Taguiam; his children, Sandra Aleta and Brent Hughes (Marie); and his grandchildren, Mikayla, Nicholas Hughes, Anthony and Dylan Lane. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

“I just learned about the passing of Richy...I lived across the street from the Hughes family in Dobbs Ferry in the 50's and 60's. I loved the entire family...When I was 14 I had a very serious bike accident and it was Richy that saved my life and stopped me from choking on my own blood...Aleta was a close friend...Cookie aka Carol babysat for my sister and me...Thank you for all the memories Richy and the rides to school. I can still see you polishing your car in the driveway...Rest in Peace”
