He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Pierre Marie Nicolas and Marie Anne Braban Nicolas; his girlfriend Elizabeth May Ellis; his stepsons, Lester M. Ellis, Donald Ellis and Richard Travis; and his grandson Donald Ellis, Jr..
He is survived by: his siblings, Georgette Marie Louise Riou of Woodside, N. Y., Anne Marie, Marie Therese, Josaine Marie-Louise of Brittany, France and Yves Nicolas of Nice; his daughter-in-law Marcia Anna Ellis of Poughkeepsie; and his grandchildren, Megan Anna Ellis-Morra (Gerard Michael Morra) of Poughkeepsie, Brittney Lynne Ellis of Poughkeepsie, Michelle Vasta (Frank Vasta) of Glens Falls and Kelly Brown of Tulsa, OK. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
