He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Joseph Souza Bettencourt, Sr.; his wife Martha Ann Gerroir; his grandfather Gramps; his grandchildren, Jessica Herron, Sierra Pratts, Kayleigh Bettencourt and Kyren Bettencourt; his children, Theresa Bettencourt (Teri), Joseph Bettencourt (Jay) and James Bettencourt (Tracy Holmes); and his sisters, Diane Bongiorno and Virginia Chase.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Hudson Valley Rail Trail he walked for miles daily, or to the American Indian College Fund or AmeriCares, two of his top charities.
