Florence Elmendorf Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Florence Elmendorf of Poughkeepsie, New York, who passed away on February 18, 2025 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Florence may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Stanley Steen and Maude Osterhoudt Steen; and her husband Robert L. Elmendorf. She is survived by: her children, Bruce Elmendorf (Carol) of Murrell's Inlet, SC, Stanley Elmendorf (Linda) of Hyde Park, NY, Jeffrey Elmendorf (Peggy) of Mayfield, NY, Gary Elmendorf (Andrea) of Poughkeepsie, NY, Linda Pellicane (Karen Foster) of Stone Ridge, NY and Lori Elmendorf (Tracey L. DiBrango) of Poughkeepsie, NY. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Wm. G. Miller & Son F. H., Inc. (371 Hooker Ave, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603). A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Hopewell Reformed Church (143 Beekman Rod., Hopewell Junction, NY 12533).
