He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Elbert Smith and Gladys Smith; his wife Barbara; his sons, Michael and Kevin; his granddaughter Emily; and also, Gina and Lynn. He was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and many friends.
