She was predeceased by: her parents, Floyd Eakins and Maude Eakins (Mearkley); and her siblings, Bernice Streeter, Anna Eakins and Silas Eakins.

She is survived by: her children, Dawn Sloan (Todd) of Potsdam and Darci Gumaer (Carrie) of Potsdam; her grandchildren, Alec Sloan of Arizona, Emily Archambeault (Christian) of New Hampshire, Alyssa Sloan of Massachusetts, Erica Sloan of Potsdam, Alfonse Gumaer of California and John Gumaer of New York; and her great grandchild Jayden Gumaer. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Contributions in Carolene's name may be made to the Potsdam Rescue Squad.
