It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Francis W. Shields (Portville, New York), born in Alma, New York, who passed away on September 28, 2018, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his daughter Vivian Shields; his siblings, Larry Shields, Richard Shields, James Shields, Phyllis Dickerson and Virginia Shields; and his siblings-in-law, Dorothy Shields, Roberta Shields, Nellie Shields and Orville Dickerson.

He is survived by: his parents, Clyde Shields and Iva Mesler Shields; his spouse Marge M. Gustin; and his children, Barry Shields (Rebecca) of Allegany, Kenny Shields (Laura) of Wellsville, Carey Shields (Vickie) and Bonnie Lyman (Mark).
