“When I saw Headlights on the sleds brighten up, I knew the race was on. one sled came from the outside lineup like a shot out of a gun, and as I watched, it was T and his Rupp way out in front. After T won, Irvin Grant who was the "KING of The Lake" at the time came up to Tom and I and asked, "what is it & how could it be so fast." I'll never forget Big T throwing his arms up in the air and saying" It's a Rupp"”

Duane Leach wrote a sympathy message

“It was a cold January night in 1970 at Saratoga Lake. The ice was very smooth with about 3 to 4 " of snow on it. Perfect for a Saturday night snowmobile drag race and was the place to be if you had a fast sled. I meet Tommy T at Mangino's restaurant that night. He had his new 1970 Rupp 634 WT snowmobile and I my 440 Rupp SS. I went straight out on the lake so to watch Tom line up with to 20 to 30 other snowmobiles ready to race from Browns beach to then finish line infront of Mangino's. cont.”
