Ronald M Cholewka Obituary
Mr. Ronald M. Cholewka, Port Jervis, NY Mr. Ronald M. Cholewka of Port Jervis, NY died Friday, October 8, 2021 at home with his loving family by his side. He was 62. Ronald was born November 16, 1958, in Paterson, NJ the son of the late Matthew Cholewka and the late Eleanor Robson Hughey. Ronald was married to the love of his life, Dawn Macaulay on June 19, 1982 in Ridgewood, NJ and was happily married for 39 years.
He was a member of the Hope Evangelical Free church in Matamoras, PA and truly held in his faith in God until the very end. Ronald was an avid bowler at Wallenpaupack Lanes for many years. If the Cowboys were playing, you better believe Ronald would be watching the television cheering them on hoping for a win. He was a beloved husband, father, and Papa.
He loved his family and was always happy to spend time with them. Ronald also loved to travel with them down to the Jersey Shore in Wildwood, New Jersey. A true Christian man, loving and giving, he will truly be missed by all who knew him. In life Ronald lived with a long history of health issues, due to which he was in the care of many nurses and doctors over the years.
Ronald developed several cherished relationships with many of the doctors and nurses who cared for him. He would truly like to thank all of you who stood by his side and helped him through all his health matters with care and kindness. His world was made better because you were in it and his family is forever grateful. Surviving are:
His wife: Dawn Cholewka at home. 3 daughters: Amanda and her Husband Keith Sauer of Reading, PA, Heather Cholewka and her fiance John Araujo of Barryville, NY, Ashley Cholewka and her husband Dylan Spohler of Port Jervis, NY. 4 grandchildren: Caleb, Madeline, Jackson, and Gideon. Sister-in-law: Emily and her husband Bill Ciaurro of New Hampshire.
Nephew: Michael Ciaurro of New Hampshire. Brother-in-law: James Macaulay of New Hampshire. Aunt: Peg and Ted Wing of Middletown, CT. cousins: Kathy and Dante Aiudi of Middletown, CT and Steven Wing of Middletown, CT, He was predeceased by Roxy, his dog and best friend. He could be found on numerous occasions taking his dog on his errands throughout town.
It was always the best for his beloved Roxy; he made sure she had a comfy seat in the car and always kept her close. Family and friends are invited to visit at the Hope Evangelical Free Church, 300 First St., Matamoras, PA 18336 on Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 11:00am to 12:00pm. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 12:00pm at the Hope Evangelical Free Church with Rev. Leonard Gilpin III officiating.
Cremation was held at MacLennan Hall Crematorium, Milford, PA. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
