He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Howard E. Mather and Rose C. Cranston Mather; his son Thomas R. Mather; and his brothers, Royal T. and Charles W. Mather.
He is survived by: his daughter Pamela J. Mather-Cathy (Bruce E. Cathy) of Middletown, NY. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A family statement read: Dad enjoyed his retired teacher and senior citizen groups until covid.
