It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ellinor Peerschke (Port Jefferson, New York), who passed away on October 13, 2023, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. She is survived by: her husband Dr. Berhane Ghebrehiwet; her close friend Berhane Ghebrehiwet; and her brother Elgar Peerschke. She is also survived by nephews and nieces, and a large extended family.
Her early research focused on understanding platelet-platelet interactions via platelet membrane glycoproteins IIb-IIIa, and she was the credited co-discoverer of the latter and their contributions to platelet aggregation.
