He was predeceased by: his parents, John Schaefer and Kathryn Schaefer (Quick). He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth J. "Betti" Schaefer (Nagy); his children, William E. Handschuh (Cindy) of Ohio, Robert "Bobby" Handschuh (Tracy) of Cottekill and Samantha L. Howland (Christopher) of Kingston; his sister Eve "Cookie" Bianco (Joe) of Rosendale; and his grandchildren, Keegan Howland, John, Mackenzie, Emily, Ashley, Chrissy and Greg Handschuh. He is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren.
Face coverings are required and social distancing will limit visitor capacity in the funeral home.
