With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Elizabeth Schaefer of Port Ewen, New York, born in Kingston, New York, who passed away on December 7, 2021 at the age of 74. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Nagy and Eleanor Nagy (Carney); her husband John J. Schaefer; and her brothers, Joseph, Michael and Christopher Nagy.
She is survived by: her children, William "Billy" Handschuh (Cindy) of Ohio, Robert Handschuh (Tracy) of Cottekill and Samantha Howland (Christopher) of Kingston; her grandchildren, Keegan Howland, John, Mackenzie, Emily, Ashley, Chrissy and Greg Handschuh; and her siblings, Monica Seelbach (Alan), Patricia Nagy, Melinda Williams (Jan), Stephen Nagy, Teresa Carney (Joe) and Jenelle Castro (Angel). She is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
