It is with great sadness that we announce the death of JoAnne (Perkins) DeMetro of Pompey, New York, born in Syracuse, New York, who passed away on March 13, 2024, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Perkins and Margaret Perkins; her husband John DeMetro Sr.; and her siblings, William, Lynne Tuthill and Sally Perkins.

She is survived by: her children, John DeMetro Jr. (Christina) and Angela Romancik (John); her siblings, Margaret Farley (Dave), Nancy Taylor (Larry), Patty Reitz (Duane) and Chuck Perkins (MaryAnn); and her grandchildren, Johnny III, Salvatore, Christian and Giovanna. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pompey Hill Fire Department.
