He was predeceased by: his wife Carol Rosenberg Purcell; and his siblings, Ray Purcell and Kate Hochstuhl. He is survived by: his children, Edward "Jim" Purcell, Jr. (Cindy Ingles), Patricia Stearns (Ted), Tom Purcell (Tammy), Kenny Purcell (Donna Alnutt), Joanne Dow (Mark) and Bob Purcell (Mary); his grandchildren, David Stearns (Carl), Kevin Stearns (Ashley), James Stearns, Kayla Purcell (Nick Darrah), Megan, Brian Purcell, Eric, Melissa Dow, Kirstine Purcell and Courtney Stanton (Dave); his great grandchildren, Hunter, Mason, Henry Stearns, Cooper, Cal, Weston, Walker and Laynee Carol Stanton; and his sisters, Ruth Gooden and Mary Phelps. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
