He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Elaine Bircher; his children, Jeffery Smith (Laura) and Kristen Danielson (Paul); his mother-in-law Mary Oskamp; and his parents, Clarence Bircher and Marjorie Bircher (Schefinger). He was also cherished by five grandchildren.
