He was predeceased by: his parents, Marguerite King Carpenter and Lyle Carpenter; his wife Barbara McVeigh; and his son-in-law Louis Maloney. He is survived by: his children, Peggy McCartney, Robby Carpenter (Cindy), Patty Goodell (Pat) and Pammy Maloney; his grandchildren, Randi Christodoulou, Kelli Gottschall, Jimmy McCartney, RJ, Mat Maloney, Kylie King, Christopher and Brian Goodell; and his siblings, Dorothy Somich and Charles Carpenter. He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Hospice of the North Country, CV-TEC or Shriners.
