He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Knowles and Hilda Knowles; his sister Janice Knowles; and his son Richard Knowles Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Geraldine; his children, Rob Knowles (Nicole) and Rebecca Dreher (Matt); his sister Eleanor Knowles; and his daughter-in-law Lisa Knowles.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Dick's name may be made to the North Country Honor Flight or the Saranac Hockey booster club.
