She was loved and cherished by many people including: her mother Nancy Hobbs; her husband Carl McKinnon; her father Jack Covey; her stepfather Dan Hobbs; her siblings, Rick Covey, Barb Mangold (Randy), Jayson Covey (Lisa) and Jessica Covey (Laurie); and her siblings-in-law, Mike McKinnon (Gina) and Karla Strauss (Levi). She was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations in Laurie's memory may be made to the Elmore SPCA.
