He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Elmer LaPorte and Rosemary LaPorte (Taylor); his granddaughter Tia Ducharme; and his son Stephen LaPorte (Lucia LaPorte). He is survived by: his significant other Betty Sears (Kalynn); his siblings, Belinda McKenna (Pat), John LaPorte and Mark LaPorte (MaryEllen); and his children, Patricia LaPorte (Floyd), Tracie LaPorte (Randy), Emma Squires (Andrei), Jason LaPorte and Richard Perales (Alicia). He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Brown Funeral Home (29 Broad St, Plattsburgh, NY 12901). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at 1:30 PM at the St. Peter's Church (114 Cornelia St, Plattsburgh, NY 12901).
