He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Barnard and Mabel Barnard (Macey); and his siblings, Donalda and Timothy. He is survived by: his wife Dianna Barnard (Zamoski); his son Joseph; his brother Romeo; and his stepchildren, Eddy, Dawn and Heather. He is also survived by many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
