She was predeceased by: her parents, Juan Melendez and Maria Cruz Serrano; her husband Ernesto Aponte Sr.; her daughter Elaine Melendez; and her siblings, Alejandra, Ulpiano and Rosita.
She is survived by: her son Ernest Aponte Jr. (Antonia) of Plattekill; her sister Carminda of New York, NY; her grandchildren, Yolanda, Candido, Amy, Elizabeth, Luis, Ernie III and Candace; and her great grandchildren, Johnathon, Adriana, Candido Jr., Mya, Ayden, Alex, Kayleigh and Ian. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Copeland-Hammerl Funeral Home (162 S Putt Corners Rd, New Paltz, NY 12561). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
