He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Lou Scherner and Thomas Scherner; his brother Frederick Scherner; and his brother-in-law Douglas Thompson. He is survived by: his sister Catherine Thompson; his niece Erin Kolenko (Nicholas); and his great-nephews, Wesley, Matt, Rob and Arnie.
