We are sad to announce that on April 2, 2022, at the age of 71, Edward J. Szmidt of Pine Island, New York, born in Goshen, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Matthew Szmidt and Doris Fullington Szmidt. He is survived by: his wife Elaine Jackson Szmidt; his children, James Szmidt (Jennifer) of Wurtsboro, NY and Debbie Sue Leon of Wurtsboro, NY; and his sisters, Carol Ann Chaney of Ocala, FL and Kathy Thorne of Augusta, WV. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
