He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard W. "Dutch" Bennett and Doris Bennett McCann; and his brother-in-law Terry Masker. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Hall Bennett; his children, Shaun Bennett (Maria) of Elmira, Monica Bennett of Elmira and Timothy Bennett of Elmira; his siblings, Carol Masker of Elmira, R. Michael Bennett (Rose) of Elmira, Daniel Bennett of Elmira and Susan Raub (Frank) of New Port Richie, FL; his stepchildren, William Dildine Jr. (Dawn) of Elmira, Sheree L. Magera of Pine City, Michele R. Macri of Sayre, PA, Scott M. Dildine of Elmira and Robin Velez of Tampa, FL; and his siblings-in-law, Arlene Middleton (Randy Middleton) of Woolcott, NY and Arden Hall of Elmira Heights. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
