He was predeceased by: his parents, William Birkholz and Florence Birkholz; and his siblings, William Birkholz III and Alice Bauman. He is survived by: his wife Altah Birkholz (Hosley); his children, Todd Birkholz and Julie Rychel; his sister Susan Whalen (Michael); his grandchildren, Samantha Rychel, Patrick Rychel (Aliyya) and Ryan Rychel; and his great grandchildren, Thomas Pittman, Haylee Rychel, Cole Barnes, Alianna Rychel, Caleb Barnes, Penelope Rychel and Gabriella Rychel. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
