Cynthia Kern wrote a sympathy message

“We were so sorry to hear of Lois Chorney's passing today. Our son John was in one of her 1st grade classes at Hendy many years ago. "Mrs. Chorney" created an environment that got him to love school again. He now has a master's degree and a profession in mechanical engineering so she set him on the right path! Lois contributed much to the field of education and she was such a lovely person! Our condolences to her family and friends.”
