She was predeceased by: her husband Harold B. Shafer; her son John Shafer; her parents, John Crum and Elizabeth Crum; and her brother Don Crum.

She is survived by: her children, Sandra Sterling, Barbara Shafer and Thomas Shafer (Susan); her daughter-in-law Corinne Shafer; and her brothers, John Crum and Stanley Crum. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren.
