He is survived by: his father Bernard Hakes, Sr.; and his brothers, Bernard Hakes, Jr. (Dorothy), Michael Hakes, Keith Hakes, Kevin Hakes (Karla) and Lindsay Hakes (Danelle). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
