He is survived by: his wife Carol Gihr; his sons, Thomas Jr. (Suzanne), Michael (Nancy Lonce) and Stephen (Rebecca); his grandchildren, Matt Carson (Lauren), Kimberly Gallo, Sarah Gihr, Jesse Gihr, Shane Gihr and Stephen Gihr; his great grandchildren, Jack, Cameron, Isla and Gianna Carson; his siblings, Jim Gihr (Lorraine) and Mary Greer; and his siblings-in-law, Dan Martin (Mary Ann), Ann Dowd and Bonita Martin. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
