He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert and Dorothy; his children, Diane Thayer and Robert Thayer Jr.; and his grandson Jason.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his children, Kimberlee Morley (Edward), John Thayer Sr. and Cheryl Ann Brundage (Gary); his daughter-in-law Lori Thayer; and his grandchildren, Edward, Michael, Emma, John, Eric, Nicole, Samantha, Allison, Zachary, Tiffany, Sean, Tami and Phillip. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 13th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. (1525 Burlingham Rd, Pine Bush, NY 12566). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 14th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, September 14th 2024 at 12:00 PM and from 12:15 PM to 12:45 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Make-A-Wish Foundation, or the American Cancer Society.
