John P. DeMatteis Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John P. DeMatteis (Pine Bush, New York), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 7, 2025 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid John farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For John is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Marciano DeMatteis and Filomena D'Adieco DeMatteis; and his wife Marie DeMatteis. He is survived by: his daughters, Donna Baroniunas and Lydia Mercurio; his granddaughters, Megan and Keri; and his great grandchildren, Luca, Mila, Mackenzie and Finn.
A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Infant Saviour (22 Holland Ave, Pine Bush, NY 12566). A burial was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 11:15 AM to 11:30 AM at the New Prospect Cemetery.
