He was predeceased by: his stepdaughter Elizabeth B. Giles. He is survived by: his wife Krystyna; his children, Joachim A. Schumacher and Judy Schumacher of Arlington, MA; his granddaughters, Emma Petrie, Zoe Petrie, Janus Lighton and Liz G. Giles; his sister Helga Stofken of Germany; his stepson Thomas (Halina Kozlowski); his stepgrandson Mark (Leah Kozlowski); and his brother Uwe Lingron. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
