With solemn reverence, we commemorate Helen Sebald of Phoenicia, New York, born in Oceanside, New York, whose life came to an end on October 7, 2024 at the age of 93, leaving behind cherished memories. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Duryea and Helen Egger Duryea; and her husband Elwyn Sebald. She is survived by: her children, Thomas Sebald (Mary) of Shandaken and Janet Levinson of Kingston; her grandchildren, Jaimy, Katy, Thomas and Matthew; her great grandchildren, Charly, Maeve and Thomas Jr.; her nephew John (Babette); and her great-nieces, Jacqueline, Dominique and Pearl. She is also survived by her children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 11th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home (87 Main St, Phoenicia, NY 12464). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 12th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA or the Shandaken Animal Volunteer Effort.
