With heavy hearts, we announce the death of William C. Burns of Philadelphia, New York, born in Theresa, New York, who passed away on June 30, 2023 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Burns and Freida Burns (Tibbles); his close friends, Art and Doris Haggerty; his daughter-in-law Laura Burns; and his siblings, Charles, Donald, Douglas, Rick Burns, Edna Martin, Julia Stevenson, Mayfred Vann, Frances Finley and Warren Burns (Raymond "Corky" Cobb III).
He is survived by: his wife Lois M. of Philadelphia, NY; his children, Pamela Desormo (Scott) of Watertown, Allan Burns of Valdosta, GA and Christopher Burns (Moreen Murphy) of Philadelphia; his sister-in-law Holly Cobb of Carthage; his grandchildren, Brent, Jacob, Haylee Desormo, Heather Dixon (Burns), Tyler Burns, Josh Cobb and Autumn Taylor (Cobb); and his sister Martha Bartlett of Redwood. He is also survived by 6 Great Grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to the Philadelphia United Methodist Church, Philadelphia Fire Department or Philadelphia American Legion in his memory.
