He was predeceased by: his wife Ruth Nayaert; his parents, Margaret Nayaert and Al Nayaert; his sister Dorothy; his brother-in-law Jerry VanCamp; his brother Charles; his sister-in-law Cheryl Nayaert; and his nephew Carl Nayaert.

He is survived by: his stepson Eric Smolinski (Shelia); his nieces and nephews, Donna VanCamp, Theresa Paddock (David), Denise Fultz (Jim), Pam Stearns (Greg), Cherie Lyons, Ricky and Rob Nayaert; his close friends, Sue and Larry GalensBud; and his grandson Eric Michael. He is also survived by 4 Grandchildren and 8 Great-Grandchildren.

The military honors was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Resthaven Cemetery (10 Rest Haven Dr, Phelps, NY 14532).

Memorial donations in memory of Bud may be made to The House Of John, 14 Spring Street, Clifton Springs NY 14432.
