He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Moracco and Patricia Aubry Moracco; and his brother Richard Moracco. He is survived by: his wife Karen Moracco; his son Joshua Moracco; his siblings, Stephanie Iannopollo (Anthony), Lynn Cook, Jeanette Hudson (Kevin) and Thomas Moracco (Carol); his mother-in-law Rose Smith; and his sister-in-law Susan Moracco. He is also survived by Several Nieces and Nephews.
In 2009, Dan was presented with the Phelps Citizen of Honor Award, recognizing him for all of his contributions to his community.
