He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Raymond J. Dilzer and Irene Dilzer (Harrington); his wife Mary Muir Dilzer; his children, Patricia White (Peter), Charles Dilzer (Lynn) and Richard Dilzer (Suzette); and his grandchildren, Sarah Berry, Peter C. White, Dr. Emily Brunner, Allison Giguere, Kristin Arminio, Lauren Dilzer and Samantha Slevens. He was also cherished by fourteen great grandchildren.
