She was predeceased by: her parents, Gerald, Sr. Giguere and Freida Giguere (Coolidge); her husband Michael Martin of Augustine's Church; her son Brian Martin; her siblings, Monica Martin, Gerald Giguere, Jr. and Ronald Giguere; and her brothers-in-law, David Martin, Timothy Martin and Gerald Ormsby.
She is survived by: her children, Kent Martin (Patty) and Robin VanWeort (Harold, Jr.); her grandchildren, Michael Martin (Deanna), Sarah Liccardi (AJ), Zach Martin (Elissa), Taylor VanWeort, Tyler VanWeort (Amber) and Bryan VanWeort (Monica); her great grandchildren, Bexley, Luke Martin, Conner, Olivia, Noah Liccardi, Dixie Martin, Chevy, Cooper, Madeline and Ryland VanWeort; her sisters, Gwen Russell (James), Margo Ormsby and Bonnie Atkinson (Charlie); and her close friend Gary Ward.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 27th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Hamilton Funeral Home Inc. (294 Mannix Rd, Peru, NY 12972). A Mass was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Augustine's Church (3035 N Main St, Peru, NY 12972). A burial was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the St. Augustine's Cemetery (3035 N Main St, Peru, NY 12972).
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Barbara Martin may be made to Donate Life, American Cancer, or the Senior Center.
