She was predeceased by: her parents, James Whitbeck and Virginia Whitbeck; and her sisters, Patricia Heath and Mary Orr. She is survived by: her son Jacob "Jake" Boorom; her pet Puff; her brother Bruce Whitbeck (Marie); her brothers-in-law, Eugene "Iggy" Heath and Ralph Orr (Gloria); her nieces and nephews, James, Matthew Orr (Jesseca), David Heath (Rosa), Susan Miller (Darrin), Andrew (Kimberly) and Amanda Whitbeck; her great-nieces, Jacklyn Campbell, Darby, Peyton, Morgan Miller and Hayden Campbell; and her great-nephew Heath McIntyre.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Laurel's honor to the Penn Yan Volunteer Ambulance Corps or the American Cancer Society.
