He was predeceased by: his parents, Nancy Woolston-Kavanagh (Costich) and Clare D. Woolston; his father-in-law Howard Woodruff; and his brother Jeffrey Woolston. He is survived by: his wife Carla Woolston (Woodruff); his son Jonathan Woolston (Amanda); his siblings, Tim Woolston (Carol), Joe Woolston and Cate Obenauer (Eric); and his mother-in-law Doris Woodruff. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
