Nancy W. Peek Obituary

Nancy W. Peek Fairport – On December 27, 2022 at age 70. Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Bill; children, Laura Jo (Andris) Silins, Jody (Brad) Mosher and Benjamin (Indira) Peek; grandchildren, Paige, Hunter and Cole Silins, Luke, Kennedy and Logan Mosher, Kaden and Kinsley Peek; many nieces and nephews.

Nancy Peek was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt, friend, retired nurse and so much more. She leaves behind values of education, hard work, and good old family fun. The values that Nancy taught will forever be her legacy as her family will carry those throughout their lives. Nancy obtained her nursing degree from the University of Buffalo and began her long career at Strong Memorial Hospital from where she retired after 40-plus years, ending her career in the Pediatric MRI unit in which she opened. Nancy was a firecracker who was caring, generous, and confidently opinionated. Everything she did was done with grace and conviction, leaving her memorable to anyone she came in contact with. She thoroughly enjoyed watching and encouraging her grandkids in their extracurricular sports and activities. She was their number-one cheerleader and loyal fan. With so many different personalities and interests in the family, Nancy had a special bond that tied the entire family together. She was a confidant, a shoulder to cry on, a hand to hold and the best at giving and receiving hugs. Some of her favorite hobbies were checking the news on the "Internet" while drinking her morning coffee. While in the evenings reading her books and settling in for the night next to Bill as they watched their shows. She was an avid reader and a serious shopper. Nancy was fond of saying to her grandkids, "Here, model this for me, will ya?". Christmas was her favorite holiday. It was the time a year she liked to listen to Christmas music, splurge on decorations and spoil everyone with gifts. Two of her favorite things were sunflowers and cardinals, although we believe she secretly loved the Buffalo Bills too. Recently Bill and Nancy would spend the winter in Florida and invite the family to visit. Along with the trips to Florida, Nancy and Bill would rent a spacious home to take the family on unforgettable vacations to Virginia Beach. Many memories were built there. We belly laughed, played games, witnessed phantom horses, and enjoyed good food and drinks together. Nancy will also be remembered for how she adored her husband of 47 years, Bill. Although they had different interests at times, Bill and Nancy had a bond that will withstand the test of time and can be used as a model for her children as to how to maintain a loving and successful marriage. "You might find it hard, unfair, or sad, but I see it as a chance to reminisce about what we've had.". Services are to be held privately. Kindly consider donations to Golisano Children's Hospital in Nancy's memory.
