He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Pemberton; his daughter Nancy Ricciardi; his brother Robert Guthrie; his brother-in-law George Pemberton (Cherie); and his son-in-law Robert Malley.
He is survived by: his children, Laurie Guthrie, Joan Malley and James Guthrie; his grandchildren, Stephen Malley (Chelsea), Megan Oplinger, Allison Mendez (Ramon), Cynthia Whitney (Jesse) and Jillian MacKay (Stuart); his great grandchildren, Chloe, Claire, Vivian, Will, Ollie and Archie; his sister Marjorie Marsh; his siblings-in-law, Cathy Crosby (Robert) and James Pemberton; and his pet Gracie. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
