He was predeceased by: his parents, Anna Thakadiyel and Chacko Thakadiyel; and his siblings, Mathew, Abraham, Jacob, Pennama, Chinnama and Thankama.

He is survived by: his wife Marykutty Chemmacheril; his children, Jyoti and James; his children-in-law, Suresh and Suman; his grandchildren, Angela, Albert and Judith; and his siblings, Thomachan, Stephen, Thresiamma and George. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
