He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugenio Rivera Silva and Braulia Ramos Pabon; and his siblings, Gregorio Rivera, Claudio Rivera, Pabin Rivera and Crucita Rivera.

He is survived by: his wife Carmen Rivera; his sons, Feliz Rivera (Xiomara), Samuel Rivera (Jessica) and Eugenio Rivera (Liz); his grandchildren, Brenda, Edwin, Samuel Jr., Mia and Misha; and his siblings, Teresa Rodriguez and Jose Rivera (Martha). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
