He was predeceased by: his siblings, Mae-Francis Hall and Maratis Hunter. He is survived by: his spouse Elease; his children-in-law, Latanya Godbee, Tyrone T. Hunter, Ethleen Hunter (Bridgewater), Darrin Winston, Richelle L. Winston (Hunter), Dallas L. Hunter and Alice Hunter (Longhi); and his siblings, Lewis R. Hunter and Joanne Hunter. He is also survived by six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Memorial donations can be made in his honor to the "American Cancer Society".
