He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Richard Heady Sr., Linda Heady, Robert Lent and Theresa Lent; and his stepbrother Christopher Gilleo.

He is survived by: his daughters, Chasity Lent and Star Lent; the mother of his children Candice Ayala; his brothers, Marcus Lent and Jordan Lent; his stepsister Shalee Mallory; and his nieces and nephews, Nala Elianna Lent, Shyanne Mallory, Mason and Ryder Lent. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

“I didn't know Richard Anthony Lent or any of his family, but I pass the place where he died everyday on the way to work and think about what a tragic loss of life that was. The drivers in this area are so aggressive and have a "me first" mentality, and to think the person who hit Mr. Lent could have just driven away from the scene...it's really despicable. It's moments like these that we really have to remind ourselves to not let the world or other people's bad deeds sap away the goodness in us.”
