He was predeceased by: his parents, George Forbes and Margaret Forbes; and his daughter Tracey. He is survived by: his sister Peggy; his wife Marlene Finnegan; his son Stephen Forbes (Carol); his son-in-law Mike Macur; his stepchildren, Kelly Cartwright (Rob), Maureen Harris (John), Keith Finnegan (Alice Williams), Sharon Trotti, Michael Finnegan, Ken Finnegan (Lynn), Kevin Finnegan (Tina) and Candace Kellogg Finnegan; and his siblings, George (Carol), Lynn and Dana. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a charitable donation be made in Jay's name to either The Parkinson's Foundation Parkinson.org or the Gary Sinise Foundation GarySiniseFoundation.org.
